The infamous Melbourne Match-Up will once again take place this Monday, June 10, over the King’s birthday long weekend.
Still buzzing after their first home game win, the Mavericks will need to pull out all the stops if they want to claim bragging rights over their cross town rivals.

KEY MATCHUPS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
Kim Jenner V Keira Austin
After a stellar performance in last week’s game against the Swifts, Kim Jenner will be at the top of her game against Keira Austin, looking to better her intercept and deflection count. Austin has been shooting impeccably in previous weeks, with her circle work and connection with Garbin only growing, both Jenner and Lewis will have to present their A game this weekend if they plan on stopping the Vixens in their tracks.
Amy Parmenter V Hannah Mundy
Not only is Amy Parmenter a diamond in the eyes of the Mavs, she was just listed in the Australian Diamonds squad for 2024/25. As an experienced Diamond, Parmenter will be buzzing with excitement this weekend and is sure to be at the top of her game. Her opponent, Hannah Mundy, however, has too been listed in the squad for the first time in her netball career. It will be exciting to watch these two pocket rockets on Monday, and will be a matchup for the history books.
Shimona Jok V Rudi Ellis
Week in week out, Jok and her shooting have taken to new heights. Never failing to stand up when her team needs it most, Rudi Ellis has a tough battle ahead of her in this home game. Racking up eight intercepts and twenty deflections for the season, no doubt this feisty defender will want to put her finger in all the pies.
A MESSAGE FROM THE COACH:
In a post match press conference following the Mavericks concrete win over the NSW Swifts, Head Coach, Tracey Neville attributed her side’s win to their ability in “putting that pressure on early”, and that the “defensive pressure from the start really lifted our attack” and often got the team “back into the game.” With the on court friendships and team energy lifting each week, it has been brilliant to see the Mavericks soaring to new heights.
