It’s shaping up as one of the biggest Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) game days of the season at John Cain Arena this week, with the Melbourne Mavericks hosting the Sunshine Coast Lightning in a crucial Round 11 clash - and a packed schedule of community activations, development opportunities and family fun set to make it a day to remember.
With just four rounds remaining in the 2025 SSN season, Saturday night’s match looms large for both teams, with finals positioning on the line and the potential to shape the final make-up of the top four.
But long before the 7pm first centre pass, there’s plenty happening around the venue!
Lumo Energy Community Classic
The Lumo Energy Community Classic is back, bringing grassroots netball to centre stage as part of a full day of action at John Cain Arena.
This week’s event will feature more than 150 young players, giving the next generation the chance to step onto the big stage and experience an SSN game-day environment.
A key focus of this year’s Lumo Energy Community Classic is accessibility, with matches available to stream, allowing families, friends and clubs to follow the action from anywhere. The full fixture will be added closer to game day, making it easy for supporters to tune in and cheer on their teams.
