At the Mavs, music has always been part of our match‑day experience, helping create an energetic, modern environment that brings sport and entertainment together.
However, we’ve heard your feedback this season - particularly from fans with sensory sensitivities - and we know we need to do better, to truly make our club and our match days an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all.
That’s why – starting from this weekend’s home game against the West Coast Fever at John Cain Arena - we’re introducing changes to ensure a Mavs match day is fun, inclusive and accessible for everyone.
What’s changing:
Lower music during live play
Music will be turned down while the game is in progress. It will remain at a background ambience, allowing fans to better enjoy the play, hear the whistle and stay connected to the match.
Energy where it belongs
Music volume will lift during quarter breaks, timeouts and activations, creating moments of fun and atmosphere without overwhelming the live netball.
More support for sensory‑sensitive fans
Information about our Sensory Room will be easier to find on game day, with clearer signage, on‑screen messaging and staff briefings so supporters can access support quickly.
Game first, always
Netball remains the focus. Music is there to enhance the experience - not overpower it.
Our commitment
We’re proud of the environment we’re building at Mavs games and remain committed to evolving our match‑day experience based on genuine feedback from our community.
Our aim is simple: big energy, great netball, and a space where everyone feels welcome.
We appreciate your feedback, and we’ll continue to listen.
