Netball Australia has announced the return of the Super Netball (SN) Reserves competition for its third year, with greater alignment to the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) fixture, enhancements to the SN Reserves finals weekend, and a new broadcast offering set to strengthen the competition’s role in the national high performance pathway.
Beginning on Saturday 25 April, SN Reserves will once again run alongside the SSN season, providing emerging talent with invaluable match play opportunities as a bridge between state-level competition and the world’s best netball league.
The 2026 fixture will see teams compete in a home-and-away format with matches scheduled to maximise alignment with SSN game days. Twenty of the 28 home and away matches will be played at SSN venues on the same day as an SSN match, and for the first time, every match will be livestreamed on KommunityTV and CODE Sports with News Corp signing on as official broadcast partner.
The competition will once again culminate in a finals weekend, this year hosted at Sydney’s Netball Central from 12–14 June in partnership with Destination NSW.
Aligning with Round 14 of SSN, fans will be able to watch the SN Reserves Grand Final before crossing to the nearby Ken Rosewall Arena for the NSW derby, where the GIANTS will host the NSW Swifts.
Tasmania, the Northern Territory and ACT will compete in a play in tournament (9–11 June) to determine seedings for the finals weekend, which this year will also feature semi final fixtures for the top four teams.
A strong mix of developing athletes, SSN training partners and emerging state league standouts are set to feature in each club’s SN Reserves squad. The competition will also provide valuable opportunities for coaches, umpires and support staff to gain experience within a national framework.
Netball Australia CEO, Stacey West, said the alignment of the SN Reserves competition with SSN, along with the new broadcast offering, ensures fans will have even greater visibility of the future stars of Australian netball.
“SN Reserves is an important component of our national pathway and plays an essential role in preparing athletes for the demands of Suncorp Super Netball,” West said.
“It provides emerging players with meaningful, high-intensity match play in a professional environment, ensuring that when opportunities arise at SSN level, our athletes are ready to perform.
“I also want to acknowledge the commitment of our clubs, who are central to the success of this competition – investing in athletes, coaches and environments that support long-term development.
“This competition strengthens our pathway, supports our coaches and officials, and ultimately enhances the quality of Suncorp Super Netball, which continues to set the global benchmark for excellence in our sport.”
News Corp Sports Commercial Partnerships Editor, Tim Morrissey, said:
“CODE Sports and KommunityTV are excited to partner with Netball Australia to provide live coverage of every match of the 2026 Super Netball Reserves for the first time, showcasing the future stars of Suncorp Super Netball.
“Our increased investment into live streaming the entire Super Netball Reserves season underlines CODE Sports’ commitment to be the home of netball and further builds on KommunityTV's full coverage of the 2026 National U/19 and U/17 Netball Championships.
“2026 Super Netball Reserves live coverage will be available on both KommunityTV and CODE Sports.”
