The Melbourne Mavericks are thrilled to announce that Reilley Batcheldor has re-signed with the club, with the emerging attacker set to continue her development in Mavs colours following a promising first season in Melbourne.
Arriving at the club ahead of the 2026 season, Batcheldor became an important member of the Mavs' attacking group as the club secured its first finals appearance and most successful season to date. Across the year, the 24-year-old embraced an evolving role within the attack end, continuing her development to be a full time goal attack while contributing to the team's record-breaking campaign.
Batcheldor arrived at the Mavericks with a reputation for resilience, having overcome multiple serious injuries earlier in her career and established herself as one of the competition's exciting young shooting prospects.
Batcheldor featured in all 15 matches throughout the season and was recognised at the club's annual Awards Night, receiving the Coaches Award for her professionalism, growth and commitment. The accolade reflected the work she put into expanding her game and transitioning from an impact goal shooter role into a broader attacking contribution.
Batcheldor said she was excited to continue her journey with the Mavs.
"I loved my first season at the Mavs and I'm really excited to be continuing with the club," Batcheldor said.
"We achieved some incredible things as a group last year, but what stands out most is the culture we've created and the belief everyone has in what we're building.
"I learnt so much throughout the season and feel like I've grown enormously as a player. I'm looking forward to continuing that development and helping the team take another step forward."
Mavs Head Coach, Gerard Murphy, said Batcheldor's re-signing reflected the value she brought to the playing group.
"Reilley's first season with the Mavs was one of significant growth," Murphy said.
"She consistently put the team first, embraced new challenges and worked incredibly hard to expand her game.
"The Coaches Award was a reflection of the professionalism, growth mindset and team-first attitude she brought every day, and those qualities are a big reason why we're so pleased she'll remain at the club.
"We're excited to see what the next stage of Reilley's development looks like because we believe her very best netball is still ahead of her."
Batcheldor joins Tara Hinchliffe, Shimona Nelson, Amy Parmenter, Jamie-Lee Price and Zara Walters in recommitting to the Mavericks ahead of the 2027 Super Netball season.
