The Melbourne Mavericks are proud to announce their leadership group for the 2025 season, the club’s second year in the Suncorp Super Netball league.
Voted on by the players, the leadership group reflects the team’s commitment to unity, hard work, and excellence both on and off the court.
Amy Parmenter will once again lead the Mavs as captain, a testament to her outstanding leadership throughout the club’s inaugural season. Returning to the leadership group as co-vice-captain is Eleanor Cardwell, whose poise and experience have been integral to the team’s success. Joining them is midcourt dynamo, Molly Jovic, who steps into a leadership role for the first time, sharing co-vice-captain duties with Cardwell.
Captain Amy Parmenter expressed her gratitude and excitement for the season ahead.
“It’s an incredible honor to be entrusted with this role again by my teammates. Last year was a milestone season for the Mavericks, and I’m so proud of what we built together. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow as a group and striving for success in 2025.”
Returning co-vice-captain Eleanor Cardwell shared her enthusiasm about re-joining the leadership team.
“It’s a privilege to be part of this amazing club and to have the trust of my teammates again. We’ve got such a special group, and I’m excited to help lead us into what promises to be another big year for the Mavs.”
Newly appointed co-vice-captain, Molly Jovic, expressed her pride in taking on this new responsibility.
“Being named in the leadership group is such a humbling experience, and I’m incredibly grateful to my teammates for believing in me. I’m excited to step up and contribute in any way I can to help this team achieve great things.”
Mavs head coach, Tracey Neville, praised the leadership group, highlighting their ability to inspire and guide the team.
“Amy, Eleanor and Molly embody what it means to be a Maverick. Their leadership on and off the court sets the standard for the rest of the team. I have no doubt they will guide us with passion and purpose as we continue to build on the foundations of our first season.”
The Mavs are ready to take on the 2025 season, with their first on-court hit-out coming in the form of a series of pre-season games, beginning on February 14.
