Melbourne Mavericks stars Jamie-Lee Price and Shimona Nelson have been recognised among the competition's best, earning selection in the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year at Friday night's Australian Netball Awards in Melbourne.
Price was named at Centre in the prestigious Team of the Year, while Nelson earned selection as the attacking substitute, capping off outstanding individual campaigns for the Mavs duo.
Adding to her accolades, Price also finished runner-up in the voting for the Suncorp Super Netball Player of the Year award, further cementing her standing as one of the competition's premier midcourters.
In her first season in Mavs colours, Price made an immediate impact, playing an instrumental role in the club's most successful campaign to date, which saw the Mavs secure a maiden finals appearance and a club-record nine wins.
The Australian Diamond led the League with 1,347.5 Net Points during the regular season and recorded 294 goal assists, the second-highest tally in the competition.
Her exceptional consistency, leadership and influence across the court also saw her crowned the Mavs' 2026 Club Champion, adding to an impressive list of career achievements that includes the 2025 Liz Ellis Diamond.
Nelson was equally influential throughout the 2026 campaign, once again establishing herself as one of the League's most reliable and dominant shooters.
The Jamaican international finished the season with 577 goals from 15 appearances, the fifth-highest tally in the competition, shooting at an impressive 92 per cent accuracy.
Nelson also celebrated a significant career milestone in Round 14, becoming just the second player in Suncorp Super Netball history to reach 5,000 goals, joining six-time League MVP Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard in the exclusive club.
Mavs Head Coach, Gerard Murphy, congratulated both players on their well-deserved recognition.
"To have two players recognised in the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year is a fantastic achievement and something we're incredibly proud of as a club," Murphy said.
"Jamie-Lee was outstanding in her first season with the Mavs. Her leadership, competitiveness and ability to influence games at both ends of the court made an enormous difference to our group, and to finish runner-up in the Player of the Year voting is further recognition of the exceptional season she had.
"Shimona has been such an important part of this club's journey, and to see her recognised among the best shooters in the competition is thoroughly deserved. Her consistency under the post, work ethic and presence within our group have been invaluable.
"Both players played a significant role in helping us achieve our first finals appearance this year, and these individual honours are a wonderful reflection of their contribution to the team.
"We're incredibly proud of Jamie-Lee and Shimona and look forward to seeing them continue to build on their success in Mavs colours."
Jessie Grenvold was also recognised at the Awards, and congratulated for her debut as Australian Diamond #198.
The individual honours cap off a milestone 2026 season for the Mavs, who secured their highest ladder finish and first finals appearance in just their third year in the Super Netball competition.
