Get ready, Mavs fans - tickets for all Melbourne Mavericks’ home games at John Cain Arena go on sale to the general public at 12pm on Thursday, 15 January via Ticketek.
After the positive response to the release of tickets for our Round 1 clash with the Giants at Bendigo’s Red Energy Arena, now’s your chance to lock in your spot for the action-packed season ahead.
The Mavs’ Melbourne season opener is more than just a game – it’s the official return of netball to Melbourne for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) season. The blockbuster clash between the Mavs and their crosstown rivals – and reigning SSN Champs – the Melbourne Vixens is certain to ignite an electric atmosphere at John Cain Arena. With the Vixens playing their first two games of the 2026 season interstate, plus the Mavs playing Round 1 in Bendigo and then Round 2 in Sydney - this will be the first match of the season held at John Cain Arena, and so the first chance fans of either team can watch them play live in the home city. With Vixens fans no doubt keen to catch a glimpse of the reigning Champs on home turf, the Mavs are expecting the demand for tickets to be high, and the competition on-court to be fierce.
The Mavs have made some exciting moves in the off-season, including recruiting the 2025 winner of the Liz Ellis Diamond – Jamie-Lee Price – along with Tara Hinchliffe and Reilley Batcheldor from the Sunshine Coast Lightning, and Sacha McDonald, the 2025 Mavs Reserves captain and a former Vixens contracted player – will she make her SSN debut in 2026?! Plus, with a new head coach in Gerard Murphy at the helm, fans will be keen to see what is different about the Mavs’ game plan in 2026.
Some of our players are also on-track to hit some significant career milestones in 2026. Following Amy Parmenter set to play her 100th SSN game during Round 1 in Bendigo (and against her former team, no less!), Hinchliffe is set to play her 100th SSN game in Round 8 when we take on the Swifts at John Cain Arena (and we all remember how that went last year!), whilst Batcheldor is set to notch her 50-game milestone in Round 11, when we take on her former team, the Sunny Coast, in Melbourne.
Round 11 also marks one of the most meaningful fixtures of the season, First Nations Round, celebrating culture, connection and community. In Round 11 you can expect stunning artwork, powerful storytelling, and a match that honours the spirit of First Nations people.
