Round three had fans on the edge of their seats as it saw the Mavericks narrowly go down to the West Coast Fever.
Coming up against the Sunshine Coast Lightning, the Mavericks still seek their first win, desperate to move up the ladder.
Having never competed against each other, these teams will be eager to test the boundaries and push each other to their limits.
KEY MATCHUPS:
Eleanor Cardwell V Courtney Bruce:
Having started the 2024 season off with a bang, hotshot Eleanor Cardwell will be up against Courtney Bruce in her first season as a member of the Lightning. In just three games, Bruce has taken 10 intercepts and 15 deflections, however, with Cardwell's shooting on fire week in week out, it will be more than difficult to stop the scoreboard ticking over.
Amy Parmenter V Liz Watson:
Mavs captain, Amy Parmenter will match up with ex-Vixen, Liz Watson, and what a battle this will be! Both willing to work to the last second and refusing to take the easy route, there is sure to be no love lost between these two Australian Diamonds.
A MESSAGE FROM THE TEAM:
Regardless of the outcome of last weekend’s game, Eleanor Cardwell spoke of the improvements the team have made, and looks forward to the battle this weekend. She noted that there were a lot more “positives” coming from the Mavs’ efforts, and that the team are “going in the right direction.”
