Ahead of their final home game of the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) season the Melbourne Mavericks are turning John Cain Arena into a celebration of grassroots netball with the Lumo Power Up Community Classic - a pre-match tournament that gives young players the chance to shine on the same court as their heroes.
In partnership with Lumo Energy, the Mavs are inviting 200 kids from 20 netball clubs to compete in a round-robin tournament, just hours before the Mavs take on the NSW Swifts in their Round 12 SSN home game.
Each match will feature two 10-minute halves with Super Shot rules in play, adding excitement and a professional twist to every game.
What’s included for participating clubs:
• On-court presentation of all players during the main game, celebrating their moment in the spotlight
• A chance to play at Victoria’s most iconic netball venue, John Cain Arena
• Included in an special Guard of Honour during the Mavs v Swifts match
Mavs General Manager, Shae Bolton-Brown, said the club was thrilled to be able to involve so many members of the netball community in their final home game of the season.
“The Lumo Power Up Community Classic is a dream come true for so many young netballers. It’s about giving kids the chance to experience the thrill of elite sport, right where the action happens. We’re proud to partner with Lumo Energy to make this day unforgettable for our community.”
