The Melbourne Mavericks are delighted to announce that Kim Brown (née Jenner) has signed a one-year contract extension, making her the first player to commit to the club for its first three seasons.
Brown, who was recently married over the summer break, has been a standout defender for the Mavericks since joining the team. In her debut season, Kim brought exceptional defensive skills, leadership, and a relentless work ethic to the court. Her ability to read the game and make crucial interceptions has been invaluable to the Mavericks' defence.
Brown expressed her excitement about the contract extension.
"I'm thrilled to continue my journey with the Mavs. The support from the team and fans has been incredible, and I'm looking forward to building on our gains made in season one over the next two seasons.”
Melbourne Mavericks General Manager, Shae Bolton-Brown, added; "Kim has been a cornerstone of our defence, and we are excited to have her commit to another season with us. Her dedication and performance on the court have set a high standard for the team, and we are confident she will continue to be a key player for the Mavericks."
With the current Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) broadcast and digital rights deal between Netball Australia and the Foxtel Group expiring at the end of next year, the end of the 2026 SSN season is the longest point in time any club can contract a player for at this point in time.
Brown’s first on-court hit-out for the Mavs in 2025 will be in the form of a series of pre-season games, beginning on February 14. For tickets and more information, please click here.
