The Melbourne Mavericks are thrilled to announce reigning Club Champion, Jamie-Lee Price, has re-signed with the club on a two-year deal. Price made an immediate impact in her first season in Mavs colours, playing a pivotal role in helping the club achieve its highest ladder finish, first finals appearance and a club-record nine wins in 2026.
Arriving at the Mavs at the end of 2025 as arguably the competition's most talked about recruit of the off-season, she quickly established herself as both an on-court leader and a driving force behind the standards and professionalism that underpinned the club's breakthrough campaign.
The Australian Diamond's outstanding debut season was recognised at the club's annual Awards Night, where she was crowned the 2026 Club Champion. Price topped the voting with 80 votes after delivering a remarkable campaign that included a League-leading 1,347.5 Net Points and 294 goal assists, the second-highest tally in the competition.
Already a World Cup and Liz Ellis Diamond winner, further accolades for one of the world's premier midcourters have recently followed on the international stage, with Price earning selection in the Australian Diamonds squad for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. In a significant career milestone, she made her Commonwealth Games debut and helped Australia secure the bronze medal, adding another achievement to an already impressive international résumé.
The respect Price commands within the playing group was also been reflected by her elevation to vice captain mid-season, where she played an important role in helping lead the club's performance both on and off the court.
Price said committing to the Mavs for a further two years was an easy decision.
"From the moment I arrived at the club, I felt something really special building here," Price said.
"This group is ambitious, connected and genuinely committed to achieving something meaningful together. To be part of a season that created so much history for the club was incredibly rewarding, and it only strengthened my belief in where we're headed.
"Winning the Club Champion award in my first year was a huge honour, but what I'm most excited about is what still lies ahead for this team. We've built a strong foundation and I can't wait to continue helping drive this club forward over the next two years."
Mavs Head Coach, Gerard Murphy, said securing Price's signature was a significant outcome for the club.
