Community Classic - 10:05AM – 5:05PM: Community Classic will have games running from 10:05AM through to 5:05PM – participants are able to stay the entire time if they wish!
Members Lounge Open 2:30PM – 5:30PM: For those sticking round for the SSN game, the “Flying Goose” Members Lounge (Western Lounge) will be open and a cash bar available!
Concourse Fan Zone Opens 5:30PM: Our match day activations along the concourse open from 5:30PM, in which you’ll need to exit the members lounge (unless you are members) and experience everything on a Mavs game day!
Melbourne Mavericks SSN 7PM: Watch the Melbourne Mavericks vs Firebirds in SSN Round 14!
SSN Lap Of Honour 7:20PM: Meet at the Community Classic entry point as the second quarter starts (approx. 7:20PM) where all Community Classic participants will be taken courtside to parade around the court at half time and celebrate their participation in the day!!

Location: John Cain Arena – Enter via Gate 6 (See Map Attached)
Game Format: 20 Minute Match (2x 9 min halves), with SSN super-shot rules and rolling substitutions in play
Umpires: Each team must provide an umpire where possible - doesn't need to be a certified umpire, just someone comfortable in helping out!
Parking: Pre-booked parking available at Eastern Plaza here
Food & Beverage: Available for purchase on the concourse throughout the day
Balls & Bibs: Melbourne Mavericks will provide match balls and alternative bibs, please bring any additional you may need.
Venue Requirements:
- No glass or cans are allowed into the venue upon arrival.
- All participants and attendees must exit the Flying Goose Member Lounge prior to 5:30PM and scan their SSN Ticketek ticket to stay in the concourse.
GAME FORMAT:
- Games will run in 20 minute blocks from 10:05AM – 5.05PM.
- There will be a 5 minute interval between games for teams to be on court for a quick warm up!
- Super shot rules are in play!
- Rolling subs through the game.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Please wear club netball dresses and ensure players are wearing comfortable footwear, exactly how they would for a normal netball game.
- Please ensure you have netball bibs and an umpire in attendance (with whistle)
- Melbourne Mavericks will provide spare netball bibs for any colour clashes, as well as match balls and warm up balls.
- We will have a food vendor available throughout the morning - but please ensure participants/attendees bring any snacks, food, and water they may require throughout the morning.
- Any medical equipment or medicine needed – please ensure inhalers, EpiPens, medicine, or anything you may need on the day is brought with you.
TICKETS:
- ALL ATTENDEES regardless of if they’re a player, staff member, coach, volunteer, parent, supporter, or sibling – will need to redeem a FREE ticket to the Community Classic: MELBOURNE MAVERICKS JUNE 13 COMMUNITY CLASSIC TICKETS
- Please note this ticket does not permit entry into the Melbourne Mavericks vs Firebirds SSN game – it is strictly valid for the Community Classic ONLY.

SSN GAME INVOLVEMENT:
- At the beginning of the 2nd quarter circa 7:20PM, all participants are invited to meet back at the Community Classic meeting spot (inside concourse, outside door 4) and be a part of our Half Time Lap of Honour!
- This is a chance to walk the court in front of the crowd and shout out your club - where all teams will receive a shout out from our MCs and big screen!
- Final call for this activation will be 7.25PM or 5 minutes into the 2nd Quarter - where we will take the group courtside in preparation.
- Clubs are invited to bring posters or team banners to parade with them around the court - think Olympics opening ceremony!
- On the day throughout the Community Classic we will have a station set up for teams to make their own posters if needed!
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- Our Flying Goose Members Lounge will be open from 2:30PM - 5:30PM, with a cash bar if any families want to stick around.
