Eleanor Cardwell

An English Rose by name and a Maverick by nature - after being an integral part of our inaugural team in 2024, Eleanor’s leadership didn’t go unnoticed, as she again takes on the role of co-vice-captain for the 2025 season. Originally from England, Eleanor has won four titles for the Manchester Thunder in the Netball Super League. She made her England debut in 2016, with now has over 70 caps for the Roses to her name, including playing at the Commonwealth Games and winning silver at the Netball World Cup. She made the move down under in 2023 to play for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, where her side went on to win the Premiership (coincidence? We think not!) Off the court, Eleanor studied at Liverpool John Moores University and received a first-class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science. When playing for Manchester Thunder, Eleanor began her career outside of netball teaching physical education at primary school-level, and has a passion for coaching young children.FIND OUT MORE
